Volume 1 covers the history, nations, peoples, religion and magic of Thedas as of Dragon Age II. Volume 2 turns to the characters of the games and novels through Inquisition and adds in-world texts like the Chant of Light. Both are reference books to dip into rather than read straight through; start with Volume 1 after Dragon Age II.
