How we pick and order the books

The recommended order is the one we think works best for someone who plays the games. It respects spoilers first and story order second.

Priority labels are judged from the point of view of a player: essential books change how you understand the games, optional ones are there if you want more, and skippable ones add little.

Canon labels follow official statements where they exist. Where the franchise itself is unclear, we say so instead of picking a side.
