Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Firewall
James Swallow, Paul Cornell, Sebastian Baczkiewicz · 2022
Sam is training Fourth Echelon's new recruits, his daughter Sarah among them, when an assassin from his past resurfaces and a cyberweapon called Gordian Sword goes up for sale. Sebastian Baczkiewicz and Paul Cornell adapted the novel as eight half-hour episodes for BBC Radio 4, with Andonis Anthony as Sam, Daisy Head as Sarah and Rosalie Craig as Grim.
What this adds if you've played the games
The same plot as the novel, cut down to about three and a half hours, so pick one or the other. Michael Ironside doesn't voice Sam here; Andonis Anthony does, with Will Poulter, Sacha Dhawan and Nikesh Patel in the cast. It was recorded in binaural sound for headphones, which makes it a good fit for a long drive or a commute. If you'd rather listen than read, it's the quicker route to the story Dragonfire continues.
