Ready at Dawn was a California studio founded in 2003 by former Naughty Dog and Blizzard developers. It started on the PSP with Daxter, then made the two handheld God of War games, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, which squeezed the series' scale onto Sony's portable. It later made The Order: 1886 for the PS4 and the Lone Echo VR games. Meta bought the studio in 2020 and closed it in 2024.
Of its two God of War games, Ghost of Sparta is the one to play if you only pick one. It's the game that fills in Kratos's family.
