Between the first two games, Kratos rules as the God of War, but visions of his mortal past won't leave him alone. They lead him to Atlantis, to his mother Callisto, and to the younger brother he lost as a child, Deimos. Ready at Dawn made it for the PSP, and it's the game that tells you most about the family Kratos grew up in.
Books connected to this game
- Read afterGod of War
Set after the first game, with Kratos already the God of War, which gives away how that game ends. Play God of War first.
- Read beforeGod of War II
Takes place just before God of War II and adds to Kratos's anger at Olympus going in. Neither spoils the other, so release order, with II first, works fine.
- Ties intoGod of War Sons of Sparta
Both turn on Kratos and his younger brother Deimos. Ghost of Sparta, set much later, is where the games first bring Deimos in; Sons of Sparta shows the brothers as boys.
