World of Warcraft: Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War
Christie Golden · 2012
Jaina Proudmoore still runs Theramore as a place where humans and orcs can talk, even as Garrosh Hellscream's Horde grows more aggressive. The blue dragon Kalecgos comes to her for help tracking a stolen artifact of his flight, and when the Horde starts to move against the Alliance in Kalimdor, Theramore is the first thing in its path.
What this adds if you've played the games
Mists of Pandaria's war begins with an event the game covers in a single short scenario, and this book is the full account. It changes Jaina more than anything else in the series, and what she feels here drives her for years, through Battle for Azeroth. Garrosh, Baine, Kalecgos and Varian all have big parts. It's one of Golden's best, and right before Mists it gives the expansion's war real weight.
