Cyan is the studio Rand and Robyn Miller started near Spokane, Washington, first making exploration games for children before Myst turned it into one of the best-known names in adventure games. It made Myst and Riven, then Uru and its expansion, and returned to close the main series with Myst V: End of Ages.
Since then it has made original games such as Obduction and Firmament, and rebuilt Myst and Riven in real-time 3D. If you're new to the studio, the original Myst is still the place to start, and the Riven remake is the easiest way to play Riven today.
