Dafydd ab Hugh was an American science fiction writer, best known for his 1990 novelette "The Coon Rolled Down and Ruptured His Larinks, a Squeezed Novel by Mr. Skunk", which was nominated for a Nebula Award.
With Brad Linaweaver he wrote the four Doom novels of 1995 and 1996, which give the classic games' marine a name, Flynn "Fly" Taggart. Knee-Deep in the Dead, the first, is the one to read after playing Doom. The later books drift away from the games into their own science fiction story.
