Sylvanas Windrunner tears open the veil between life and death, and the souls of Azeroth's dead start flowing into the Maw, a prison in the afterlife. You cross into the Shadowlands yourself, work with the covenants that run its zones and try to learn what Sylvanas wants and who she answers to.
